Day trip to the Atlas Mountains and the 3 valleys
Visiting the three valleys would be the best thing a person can do in Marrakech. It is a full day trip and yet marvelous, you will have a chance to see some of the stunning highlights in the Atlas Mountains.
In the morning, the trip starts at 8:30am with the driver waiting next to your accommodation in Marrakech. After, we will be heading to Ourika valley about an hour drive from the Marrakech, famous by its waterfalls, of course if you wish to visit the waterfalls our guide will be delighted to show you the area. In addition, you will enjoy different landscapes and get epic views as far as the eye can see. In Ourika you can visit a local women’s cooperative for extracting Argan Oil and witness how this golden oil is made.
The second step of this trip will be the Asni valley. You will follow an isolated mountain path of an altitude of 5900ft (1800m), passing through traditional Berber villages with earth and stone houses. Then, you will head for Ouirgane Asni valley, which is located almost at the foot of Mount Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa at 13,671ft (4167m). In the valley, a succession of traditional Berber villages perched high in the Atlas Mountains. All you have to do is get your camera to be ready to picture some of the wonders of nature. If your visit coincides with Saturday, you could visit the souk of the village, the meeting place of people from the neighboring villages to source material necessities.
The third valley on our journey will be Moulay Brahim, a beautiful and charming place, where you will clim up the hill and see a stunning view over the long valley. The our trip will end and we will take the way back to Marrakech around 5:00pm.
